Hello, I'm Diane.

I'm the artist, designer, and one-woman studio behind The Gypsy Goddess.
I'm originally from San Diego, and everything I make still carries a little of that late-'90s surf-and-skate energy I grew up around — tie-dye, hand-drawn linework, a carefree nod to the '70s brought into the modern day. I've been a working graphic artist and illustrator for over 15 years, with a BFA in Graphic Design from the Art Institute of California–San Diego and an MFA in Visual Development & 2D Animation from the Academy of Art University in San Francisco.
Along the way I've designed for Hasbro Studios, Skechers USA, and Salesforce, freelanced through agencies like WME, worked on children's book projects, and taught at the Academy of Art University. It was a full, exciting career — and also one that left me creatively burned out, doing beautiful work that didn't feel entirely mine.
How The Gypsy Goddess Started
In 2016, almost by accident, I started digitally painting tie-dye patterns in Photoshop. What began as a way to reconnect with my own creativity turned into stamp brushes, then patterns, then a whole library of digital design tools — and I started selling them.
Since then, this little corner of the internet has grown int

o something I never expected. My patterns have been licensed for a collection with SHEIN, and I was commissioned by Adobe to create an exclusive set of Shibori tie-dye Photoshop brushes for Adobe Discover. I share what I know through tutorials on YouTube, and every single product in this shop is something I designed myself, brush by brush and pattern by pattern.
What You'll Find Here
The Gypsy Goddess is home to three things I love making: digital design downloads — Photoshop and Procreate brushes, seamless patterns, backgrounds, vector sets, and fonts, ready to drop into your own projects; apparel and art prints, brought to life through print-on-demand so you can wear or hang a piece of this world; and courses, where I teach the techniques behind the patterns, for anyone who wants to build these skills themselves.
Whether you're a fellow designer looking for tools to speed up your workflow, or you just love the look of hand-made tie-dye without the mess of actual dye, I built this shop for you.
A Little More About Me
Making this work has taught me more about patience, staying present, and following a creative instinct even when it doesn't look "practical" than almost anything else I've done. This brand is proof that a slow, self-taught path can turn into something real. I'm endlessly grateful to everyone who has supported it along the way — and I'm just getting started.
